Name: Carolyn Ketterer
Bio: Hi….my name is Carolyn Ketterer and I live in the beautiful San Diego area. After college I lived in North Chicago; met a sailor; we moved to San Diego and have been here about 43 years. I retired in 1999 after teaching many different subjects at the high school level. I went back to school to obtain a library/media credential and the last 9 years of my career I was a high school librarian. Since retiring, I enjoy traveling and spend much time doing my favorite hobby of quilting for myself as well as The Prayers & Squares Quilt Ministry. I had the privilege to visit a number of orphanages in the Vladimer Region of Russia in the fall of 2002. I was extremely impresses with what CHC was doing in Russia to assist orphan children and young adults, so I came home and shared my experiences with my congregation. A few years later, my pastor took a similar trip to Russia with CHC and upon his return, our congregation has started a sponsorship of the Komsomolsk Orphanage. Because of my career commitment to serving others as a teacher/librarian, I realized I can further use my gifts to help CHC in working to change the world for orphans one child at a time. So, I am planning to run/walk this Half Marathon on September 2 to Run for One, namely my sponsored child at the Komsomolsk Orphanage, Elena M. Elena is a second grader and I am looking forward to helping her as well as her orphanage. I hope and pray that through my efforts, she and others like her will have a better life. I hope each of you reading this can help me to achieve this goal. Your prayers and donations will help.
